Rolandradio is a bit outdated and I have to low knowledge of coding to get everything done as I would have it. so I am searching for some developers who can help to rebuild and extend the functions of rolandradio.net.
So i am searching someone or a group of people who can contribute to the system.
So we changed the drive and Roland Radio is rebuilding its RAID-system. Will take a few days and then we repeat the same thing with the old original drive so after all we will have brand new drives for the next three to five years.
BUT: The Motherboard is having some problems. We have had some issues to get the Server up again and we need to change the whole server hardware to something new. That will cost some money i guess. So maybe i should set up a patreon homepage or something for getting some money? What do you think?
As one HDD of the raid-system broke a while ago i now install a second drive to rebuild the raid-system and after rebuild we will change the oldest of those two HDDs again. So Roland Radio will be down for about two hours for changing the HDD-Drive and will work again during the first rebuild of the raid-system.
Roland radio is down since six days now. There are some issues with the updates of the system itself. Some weird Windows updates hung the computer and it did not came up again.
As I personally check the stream only occasionally it would be very helpful if you write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if something is wrong. Normally our maintenance is announced in the news.
pleas do not post errors or issues into the chat window as we do not get informed about new posts there. So at the moment we are updating the system ans hopefully it will start up within the next hour.
Today we emptied our upload server and imported the tunes to our database. So we now have 81 more tunes to play. New tunes will be played more often than old ones, so keep listening to Roland radio. The new tunes are from the following artists:
Oh, we fixed that shit so very hard! New (old) RAID-drive is mirroring the next days until the new hdd drives arrive from the distributor. Updated the whole WIndows 7 Pro thing to the newest release, fixed the bug with the artists and title update in the track list. So yay. Nice work. 160 Euros in costs. What an interessting but expensive hobby i have 🙂www.rolandradio.net – USE IT!
Oh damn, its horrible. This radio station runs so fine but gets older and older by time 🙂
A few months ago a HDD drive from our Raid passed away and i try to update the OS and Software-Version on both the Radio-Playout-PC and the management-system too. Not that easy, so maybe Rolandradio will be offline for a few minutes or hours. Who’ll know 🙂
Those systems are so old. I need to replace them soon with some more modern engines. The Radio-Playout-System is an PC running Windows7 Professional on an AMD Athlon II X2 250 Prozessor, 3 GHz, 2 Cores and with 4 GB RAM. And the Management-PC is much worse: runs on a Maxdata PC (Maxdata is bankrupt since 7 years or so 🙂 ) with an Intel Celeron CPU, 1,6 GHz, 1 Core and 2 GB RAM also on Windows 7 Professional.
So both systems will get updated at the moment and maybe it will take some time until everything is done. So please be patient. You can reach us on email@example.com if you want to help us with new hardware , cake, chocolate or money 🙂
